Description:
Join us in documenting 2010 as our “Year of Gratitude!”

“Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul” Henry Ward Beecher
“52 Weeks of Gratitude” is a journey of taking one photo each week of 2010 documenting something you’re grateful for. As I was thinking about a theme for the OpenScrapbook 52 Week Project, I kept coming back to gratitude. Gratitude is such an important part of my life. It lifts me up when I’m feeling down. It helps me remember how many blessings I really have. Feeling grateful is a wonderful tool to create happiness in your life! Who doesn’t want to have happiness!
Participating in our “52 Weeks of Gratitude” is so easy and fun! Just take one photo of something you’re grateful for each week! You can then take your photos and post them on your blogs, photo-sharing sites like Flickr, and even on Twitter! I’ve come up with a few ideas of things you can do with your photos to make this project even more fun!
-
Pick a day each week for capturing your photo of gratitude. You could set aside Mondays (or whatever day you like) so it’s easy to remember to take a photo. Or you could let the moment find you! Just make it fun for you!
-
Make a scrapbook page for each of your photos and at the end of the year you’ll have a wonderful scrapbook full of gratitude!
-
Plan to make a photo book with your pictures. Shutterfly and Blurb both make great books! Create your pages as you go to make it easy at the end of the year.
-
Add a caption on your photo describing what it is you’re grateful for. Add the date if you’d like! This is super easy with your photo editing program. Just select the Text Tool, click somewhere on your photo where you’d like the text, and type away! This is one of my favorite methods of recording the details of my photo! It is so simple! In doing this, all the information is right on the photo! You can’t lose any information!

Remember, there are no hard and fast rules! If you miss a day here and there, don’t worry about it. It’s ok! This is a fun project and it doesn’t have to be stressful. Just have fun!! Keep your camera handy! Keep it somewhere you can grab it quickly if the moment strikes you! Put it on your kitchen counter, by your TV, on a bookshelf, anywhere that’s close!
We would like to invite you to participate in our OpenScrapbook “52 Weeks of Gratitude” on January 1, 2010! We have a special “52 Weeks of Gratitude” Gallery set up for you to share your favorite photos you’ve taken throughout the weeks. Misti and I will be looking through the gallery and will feature some of your photos in our special “52 Weeks of Gratitude” Forum! We are so excited to start this journey with you!
