Join Misti as she sets out on a Six Week Digital Scrapbooking Adventure!

Do you have folders full of digital photos on your computer that you’ve been meaning to scrapbook but haven’t yet gotten around to? How would you like to take those photos and create your very own 20-page themed album?

Over the next six weeks, I’m going to take you step-by-step through the process of creating your own digital scrapbook album. You’ll learn everything you need to know from downloading document templates to uploading your digital pages for printing! By the end of our little adventure, you’ll have your very own 20-page themed album uploaded and ready to order from Shutterfly (an online photo printing company).

Written especially for beginners, but advanced scrappers feel free to join in on the adventure as well!

Here’s a rough schedule of what you will be learning in the next few weeks…

Week One – Introduction and Gathering Materials (Click here to see week one in Elements or Photoshop)
Week Two – Downloading the OpenScrapbook™ Digital Adventure Kit and
page templates from Shutterfly. Getting Started, what are Quick-pages? (Elements or Photoshop)

Misti, this is EXACTLY the main reason I joined your site. I SO need to learn some tips and tricks from one who has been through the process of creating a photo book! I shall be honest in exploiting my weaknesses. I am given to detail and indecisiveness which, naturally either slows my progress or stops it altogether! I am hoping that by watching your creativity flow, it will help me to grasp a hold of what I wish to put into one book (if I think beyond the one book, I will get overwhelmed and distracted!). I believe that once I’ve seen the first photo book come to fruition, there will be no stopping me!

Following along with you as you create your wedding album is right on the money for me as I have several I need to create AND complete! It is a HUGE plus that you are using Shutterfly, as I’ve mentioned in other comments. I’m SO excited! Now, I must make myself schedule either an entire day or a space of time each day to devote to preserving my own family’s precious and priceless memories while still being able to pursue my passion of helping others! WOOT! Thank you!

Hi Linda! I think it’s awesome that my adventure is the reason for you joining in the fun here! I love making photo books. The best part about having a photo book printed is when it comes in the mail…it’s like opening a brand new book for the first time…the binding cracks a little bit as I turn the pages and discover all my beautiful layouts. And, they’re so much less stressful to show off to friends and family…with my paper layout albums I’m kind of affraid to have people look at them because they’re so fragile…with a digital photo book, if one wears out…I’ll just order another! Haha! It’s the best!

I hope you enjoy the adventure…I can’t wait to see what you come up with! :)
